I passed by this cottage, Braeview, on my walk on Sunday - it brought back memories of when mum and dad used to rent it, back in the 80s, and we stayed there often on weekends and holidays. It had no kitchen initially and mum would arrive with all the food pre-cooked. Dad built on the 'extension' kitchen you see at the back, and that changed things somewhat for mum. I have no idea who uses it today, but it's a wee gem situated where it is overlooking the hills and Braemar village. I hasten to say that this is not the renovated cottage I was investigating on Sunday, but the photo was taken from the garden of that cottage. There is nothing else around the two cottages - they are very remote, and you need a landrover or 4x4 for access.
Oh what memories to have, this must have been where your whole family must have developed your love for that area. A childâs paradise. Lovely additional info about your mum.
