A wee selfie from the back garden this morning. We are all ready to go to Japan ... via Dublin and Istanbul, as you do! Minimum of luggage because of the following : 32k allowance between Istanbul and Tokyo. 23k allowance between Dublin and Istanbul. 20k allowance between Aberdeen and Dublin! So, 20k it is. It's going to be a long old journey in economy, so the neck pillow is coming with me and Rugby Ireland Supporters bags clearly have to come. I will be wearing my Scottish jersey to the matches - even though Scotland are OUT! We have a couple of nights in Dublin first, so hopefully the next image will be from there!
Fab pic......lovely sunshine....good luck....hope all your travels go well!......I can see why your neighbour 'borrows' your greenhouse (envy).......btw....do you live next to a castle ???
@cutekitty Well, it's not quite a castle, but it's a very large house with turret as you can see! Seemingly it was the original house in our street, and the owners sold off parcels of land for other houses to be built, back in the 1800s. It's now owned as a holiday home, would you believe, and is also currently for sale ... so if you fancy it ... check out the Savills property website!
@jamibann OMG......I would love it......not sure I could cope with your Scottish weather tho.........it's a tad warmer down here in Cornwall....probably just as damp tho' Our house here was originally owned by 'the Lords of the Manor'.....and had a big garden, orchard, walled veggie garden and a coach house. This was all sold off in the 1960's when the last of the Sawle family (who used it still) passed over. (Sons and heirs lost in various wars and conflicts). House was split into two (badly). We have the best bit with the stained glass windows and sweeping staircase, all the attributes of a posh 1850's house.
Great selfie! Have fun!! My husband's cousin, Brian Mullins from Dublin, is also in Japan for rugby. He will be stopping by for a visit with us in a few weeks. I'll have to see if we can watch any of the games so we can scan the crowds for Ireland's fans.
Lovely to catch up with everyone, I have missed what you’re all up to! Our grandson Jack who is on the JET teaching programme in Japan had to be evacuated last Saturday during the typhoon. Have a wonderful trip _ luggage allowance is always controlled by the lightest permitted! I always take too much & have found virtue the last couple of times by packing lighter!
Great photo
