I went out for a walk yesterday afternoon during a short spell of sunshine. Just as I started off into the forest, I encountered this little wren darting about from tree to tree and being very vocal. What she wasn't doing was staying still - making a photo quite difficult. I got her though, as she paused to decide which tree to flit to next!
We used to have wrens who/which nested in the outhouse walls. Sadly, since farming has become more intensive, we see fewer wrens...and other species. Splendid to see 'yours'. However, we have 2 families of swallows who are having a 'flying whale of a time'...darting, diving and dipping up and down the lane at seemingly breakneck speed. They come every year...and/or their greater clan.
We have a little one here sometimes but haven't spotted it for a while.
