Reposing Pigeon

As I was looking out the kitchen window yesterday morning, I saw this pigeon taking the in the few rays of sunshine that the day offered. Quite right, you've got to take it while it's going - it doesn't last long at the moment.

I've seen pigeons and doves sit out in a patch of sunshine with a wing lifted up so that the warmth reaches the underside. At first glance I'm always tempted to think the bird has been seriously injured but then remember that they're just likely sunning themselves for a bit.
