This little 20 year old home-made pipe-cleaner elf has discovered that everything is not as easy as it might seem - especially in 2020. He wanted to help us decorate the Christmas tree this morning, but nearly came to grief as he almost fell out of the tree! He looks a little like how I feel these days! Old, falling apart and things not going as well as they should be. Be like Elf, though. If you fall down, get up, shake yourself off and be thankful for small mercies!
The whole year has gone pear shaped but at least we are still safe. Even though elf looks rather dodgy being upside down at least he is still hanging on.
A good philosophy but easier said than done sometimes!

Haha! I'm finding more and more that just because people speak English they don't speak the same language. Had to look up the meaning of "pear shaped." Makes sense now.
