@casablanca@julzmaioro It's probably not quite 'Vane', but the 'mh' becomes 'v' and the 'dh' becomes silent ... there's probably a lilt in the remaining vowels, but to all intents and purposes it's pronounced 'vane'. Another hill alongside is called Beinn A' Chaorainn - pronounced Ben A Hooran. And of course there's Loch Avon - pronounced Loch An. Go figure!
Stunning albeit stark and alien like. Would never have guessed that that was how you would pronounce the name. Guess it can be equated to how some of the Zulu, Xhosa and other ethnic names are pronounced.
