Re-opened at last. We have several suspension bridges like this over the River Dee. We often cross over Polhollick bridge on our walks, but we haven't been able to cross this one at the Cambus O' May in 5 years, as it was badly damaged by Storm Frank at the end of 2015. It's so nice to see it repaired and functioning again - but there's a bit of controversy over the access to the bridge. They've retained the original entrances to the bridge which are difficult for cyclists, necessitating lifting the bikes over at an awkward angle, and quite impossible for wheel chairs. An oversight, it would seem to me, but the explanation is that they'd have needed planning permission to change the original features of the bridge. Ah well, you can't win them all.
The photo has a good composition with all those lines. Is the bridge pretty steady? It looks as if it wouldn't be bad to swing and sway like a lot of suspension bridges. Hope that the entrance/exit problem is resolved quickly. It seems this would be a disability right.
Good shot- I always like those strong lines that roads and bridges bring to a picture. Over here they wouldn't have been able to reopen if the bridge wasn't handicap accessible.
