I found this in my dad's photos. Our dog Dileas (gaelic for Faithful, which he was, very), when he was a pup, on top of Craig Choillich, looking over Ballater, the village where we now live. This was taken when we lived here in 1967, and dad used to walk the dog up this hill every day to keep fit for his mountain rescue. You can actually see our current house in this image, but it's a little small to point out!
What a beautiful dog. You are living in a beautiful place, fabulous views. I can understand why your father could use the hill to maintain mountain fitness.
What a fabulous image both gorgeous puppy and wonderful view!! Wonderful memory for you and for your dad when he was young and fit and doing such great work with the mountain rescue!!
Sounds like Dileas was more than just faithful- he was a great fitness companion too. Your dad obviously treasured the time they had together by keeping this photo all these years.
@randystreat It hasn't grown excessively, strangely enough, but there are more trees both on top of this hill, and at village level blocking the view of the houses today. The majority of housing growth is to the right of this image, so you don't actually see it in the photo.
