When we walked up this hill last week, a number of small deer ran out in front of us and we realised afterwards that they had been feeding on hay from a shelter under the trees. So, when we went back to the same area today, we suspected that they might be there feeding. And so I sneaked out ahead, going very quietly as I reached the approximate area, and there they were. They dashed off very quickly, and so many of my photos were blurred, but they also stopped for a brief moment to look back at me. On arriving home, I downloaded the photos to realise that they are not our native red or roe deer. They are fallow deer. I have never seen such deer in this area of Scotland. I wonder if they are being bred for venison? As you can see, they are in a relatively wild area, which we walked through, but there are locked deer fences (which we climbed over), so they could well be captive. I'm intrigued now and have to find out more about these mystery creatures; where they came from, and why they are there. I'm on the case.
Oh Issi this is wonderful, they are beautiful animals! Such a lovely shot of them looking at you.
Maybe they are from SA as we have plenty here and they are bred and farmed for their meat! They used to be wild all along the different mountain ranges, but one does not see them there anymore.
I know what you mean by blurry shots, animals are much too fast for my reaction and settings too.
While not a vegetarian, I always feel badly when I am confronted with the animals. I hope you learn that they are simply transported animals enjoying life in the sort of wild!

And climbing over fences.... Ok as long as no barbed wire!!
