Summit of Pen Yr Ole Wen by jamibann

Summit of Pen Yr Ole Wen

And I thought the Gaelic names of our Scottish mountains were difficult to pronounce. Try the Welsh ones!

Anyway, this was taken at the top of our first summit yesterday. The cloud really seemed to be chasing us from the get-go, occasionally catching us and enrobing us in a light wetting mist which would make the navigation tough and then the sun would gradually appear only to disappear just as quickly. The wind was pretty gusty all day.

I loved the way this sheep, on the summit, seemed to be framed by cloud. I also like that this image is looking back to the previous day's hill - Y Garn - but the hill is shrouded in low cloud - you can just make out the loch which we skirted to get to the hill.
Such an amazing scene and capture, it looks stunning but does not sound all that wonderful ;-)

I've had a few shots like that this week, mist and low cloud, but without the hike LOL

Went to Wales and couldn't pronounce anywhere where we went. A lovely isolated photo of a sheep alone in the clouds!

Your photos are stunning! Corinne's comment above caught my eye @corinnec and yes, I was born with a different brain and lifestyle! It's what makes 365 such a beautiful "neighbourhood"!!!

A perfect frame around the sheep! I see the loch.

I used to love walking in cloud and fog, though that was mostly in the Lakes. It really isolates you from the World, you leave everything behind. perfect relaxation, providing you have a map and compass !

@graemestevens I hadn't looked at it on black, but you're right - it does look better that way. Thank you.
