I appreciate so much your comments about my photo of the giant red Chinese dragon. A Chinese Lantern Festival came to Albuquerque this weekend, and we went. I hope to plan another photo or two of the event.
Must be celebrating the Moon Festival!! Did you see any Moon Cakes? We were given some the other night by a Chinese Man. In China its when the moon is at its biggest!!
For a fleeting second I thought/wondered it might be the same lantern festival from Philadelphia - but I looked back and see this dragon is slightly different. I can imagine you might have more images to come
@777margo Thank you for your comment, Margo. No, we did not get a moon cake, but we did go the day after the big harvest moon. The festival will be in the city until mid-November.
@dbj_365 Thank you for your comment, Joe. This is the first time a Chinese lantern festival has come to Albuquerque, and we went on the first day. There was a good turnout. Chinese culture is mightily under-represented in Albuquerque, so it was good to see the city's enthusiasm.
