Thank so much for commenting on my photo of the red rocks at De-Na-Zin Wilderness in northern New Mexico. I'm sure the Navajo have a much more interesting and mythical explanation as to why the rocks are red than the scientific quote that I cited. "De-Na-Zin" is a Navajo term for where the cranes stop by. Migratory cranes are in the Albuquerque area now, and we didn't see any in that wilderness.
