“Mary said, . . . ‘Let it be . . .’ “ Luke 1:38

“When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom
Let it be

And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom
Let it be

Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom
Let it be

And when the broken-hearted people
Living in the world agree
There will be an answer
Let it be”
~Paul McCartney~

This is wonderful set in nature. Are those offerings?

You chose beautiful lyrics to accompany you pretty shot, Jane. I love all of the textures in the image. Like some of the other commenters, I'm wondering if there is a meaning behind the rocks.

Are the stones ones that people bring to lay at her feet? Interesting statue. She's almost smiling.

I find it interesting how the movement in the statue mirrors or compliments the movement of the tree bark texture

Thanks so much for commenting on my photo of the statue of Mary. I took this in the Silent Meditation Garden of the Monastery of Christ in the Desert in Northern New Mexico. I don't know what the stones at its feet signify. When I used the lyrics of "Let it Be," I read that Paul McCartney wrote it about a dream he had of his late mother whose name was Mary, but I thought it fit this Mary too.
