I took this for the Ernst Haas category. His famous photo, "1969 Route 66, Albuquerque, New Mexico," is here: https://www.artsy.net/artwork/ernst-haas-route-66-albuquerque-new-mexico
Though I was standing in the exact spot, the streetscape has changed a great deal in the past 49 years. I could not emulate Haas' result, so I settled for my interpretation of the same subject. It's better on black.
Thanks so much for commenting on my photo of Route 66 in Albuquerque. I know I was in the spot that Haas was in because of the "Carlisle" street sign. In Haas' famous photo, the tall bank building in the distance is much closer, and the dip in the road is much more pronounced. I don't know how he did that because the bank building has not moved, and I doubt the dip in the road was ever deeper either. If he achieved it through post processing film in a dark room, that is indeed an impressive level of skill. This is not a very safe part of town so I was nervous during the entire evening experience.
