Bird's Eye View

“Compared with mammals, birds have relatively large eyes. In simple terms, a bigger eye means better vision, and excellent vision is essential for avoiding collisions in flight, or for capturing fast-moving or camouflaged prey. Birds' eyes, however, are deceptive - they are bigger than they look.”
~Tim Birkhead~
I like the depth of field. The cranes behind are still visable but not in focus.

Fab DOF and wonder if you got another chance at photographing him and put him to the left looking right whether it would improve the composition?

@lesip Thanks, Leslie. There was a portion of another in-focus crane off to the right, and it wasn't a good addition, so I cropped it this way.

Thanks so much for commenting on my photo of the red-eyed sandhill crane. Each year they migrate down here for the winter in great numbers. For that reason, they appear way too often in my project.
