Last Autumn's fallen leaves stayed put to form a bronzy gold blanket over the wintering plants in the kitchen garden; and early Spring’s warm days brought fresh, little green strawberry leaves up between the bronze. Short yet graceful stems topped with dainty, white flowers came next; and now, petals drop leaving prickly centers to plump and grow glossy red. Strawberries! I knew they’d be back, and I’m thankful for them.
It's often interesting to see the flowers that go with "fruit" with which we're familiar, or the fruit that go with the flowers with which we're familiar! Nice, wet shot!
