When an acquaintance showed up with a plastic bag full of muddy roots for our new garden, I never dreamed that for 16 years I'd be thinking of her kindness every time those two peony bushes bloomed.
Ants wouldn’t have surprised me; but today, I discovered a ladybug exploring the buds - and how much fun can watching a ladybug be? Plenty!
What a perfectly formed peony bud - bet these are beautiful when they bloom - and I love catching little ladybugs - I like the different number of spots they have.
Wonderful capture. Fav! We transplanted some of a peony bush that used to be at my husband's parents house and when it blooms each year, it is a sweet remembrance of his parents.
How lovely to see Ms Ladybug have her day! I agree, they're such a pleasure to watch...not at all "bug-like"! Soon she'll have to give way for the encroaching black ants... I don't' know what it is about peonies in particular that place them in our yards, hand in hand!
