Singing In The Rain by janetb

Singing In The Rain

“Chewy! Chewy! Chewy!” “Teakettle! Teakettle! Teakettle!” The familiar, rolling songs of Carolina wrens permeate our brick walls, and what a treat! This handsome songster tends a nest with its mate below the deck; and we love its buffy breast, cinnamon back, bold eye stripe, and perky personality. Rain or shine, it sings from atop the hammock outside the kitchen and sunroom windows.

A Carolina wren entered through a window opening to explore during the construction of our home; and on our first night here, a Carolina wren slept on the cap of one of the tall, white porch columns outside our bedroom window. The ever present Carolina wrens claim the bird bottle beside the porch swing and every inch of the porches as their own; and we consider it grace to share our corner of this wonderful, wooded hillside with them!

This is fantastic, the crispness of the bird's feather's and the soft background. I can almost hear her singing.
