We got comfortable under a gray sky at the high-top table with a thermos of hot coffee while a pileated woodpecker pounded heavy on some hollow tree in the woods. Blue jays young and old soared to and from the feeders between red-bellied woodpeckers and cardinals, and I couldn’t resist getting up to photograph a beautiful eastern tiger swallowtail nectaring at the milkweed. Squirrels, quite numerous this year, picked up fallen seeds and nuts; and a pair of frisky chipmunks chased and jumped and wrestled each other, making us laugh out loud. Rain or shine, Mike and I nature watch together; and I want to remember mornings like this forever!
What a magnificent setting to call home! Little wonder you didn't have to go far to get your photos when you had so much of nature scurrying and flying around you! Enjoy your future days like this...sees the perfect place to do so!
