I took the Lensbaby outside to play with the still blooming, bright yellow marigolds. While fumbling with the head of my new tripod, this scene swept across my camera's LCD monitor; and in that serendipitous moment, I gasped. Goodbye, marigolds. Hello, lovely light!
As I gaze at this image, I'm reminded of how often in life I aim for something only to be unexpectedly directed to something even better. Redirected by the Light.
I am sure that the marigolds would have been lovely, but you were right to be stopped in your tracks by this. I often look through the view finder and see things so differently to with the naked eye. Isnt light wonderful? beautiful bokeh.
Lovin' what the Lensbaby brings to the image: all that bokeh! What a lovely light ~ it has such character and design.
Thanks for the description of the farms around you. Farm animals are no longer the norm here in western IL. Only the occasional place has free-roaming chickens and ducks. There's one not too far from my house but there's one duck that allows no one anywhere near the place so I don't risk trying to take his picture!
Janet I love how your attention always flows to the beauty around you, even if it is not what you were initially looking at. I also adore what your eye and the lensbaby have so gracefully captured here. It's beautiful.
