Snowbirds always delight me. Dark-eyed Juncos spend most of their time on the ground, but this one and some of its flock sat in the fringe tree. The freshly filled feeder hanging from the hickory lured in lots of birds while the snow fell softly and I stood staring into the viewfinder in the comfort of our warm, cozy home. The night, the snow, the cold, the wind — it’s easy to think of miracles when looking at birds, having braved it all, carrying on come morning!
