It's a lovely Saturday afternoon. He's out there cutting the grass, and the oven's heated to 350°. While this batch cools, a second sheet of these oatmeal raisin cookies bakes. I smell the warming cinnamon — always so lovely and somehow all the more on a pretty October day like today.
Baking always comes to mind when a friend's spirits need uplifting. Love and comfort seem to beautifully blend in the mixing bowl, and sharing these good feelings makes my heart happy.
