This will be a quiet day. I just arrived back home after delivering Gracie to the groomer. Until I pick her up at dinner time, I know I'll instinctively glance at all of her favorite spots only to find them empty. It's still morning, but I've been up for hours; so I've warmed up some leftover stuffed pepper soup and, with a few Saltines alongside, stepped into the sunroom to enjoy it with the birds. The exceptionally cold weather of late has them flocking to the feeders, and cardinals on snow-covered trees sure make good company. The brilliant red hes with their tawny brown shes command attention, but my bulb garden's giving them some competition. The amaryllis is next to bloom.
