All things oak in our home pay tribute to our beloved corner of this oak-laden hill. The square-cut nail normally holds a pretty pair of gilded acorns alongside a velvety green leaf — all dangling from a shiny gold cord — but not today. It kind of looks like we're moving around here as most of our decorative accessories lay hidden behind closed doors while we consider some updates, which we find easier to do with less clutter.
Delighted, I watched the setting sun visit this and that as I walked room to room gathering ideas; and struck by the beauty, I stared when I discovered the shadow of our big kitchen window on the pantry door like a priceless painting hung by the greatest Designer!

For the blessings of this dwelling, O Lord:
for the fast foundation,
for the roof stretched overhead
as a sheltering canopy,
for the luxury and security
of windows and doors,
for these strong walls
staying wind and weather,
