The path to the woods gate held a special allure for our dog Marley; and now our puppy Gracie finds it quite attractive, too. No doubt the path holds the scent of the many wild creatures that call our hill home. Just beyond the gate in the evening, one can stand breathless as the setting sun magically illuminates the woodlands while wood thrushes, robins, and more feathered friends sing out their praise as birds are known to do. When asked, Gracie took a break from her path sniffing to pose for me; but then an ant went crawling by, and just-shy-of-8 months-old Gracie thought it wanted to play!
I praise you, Lord, for the path to the woods gate leading to magical evening scenes — and for playful Gracie!
