After weeks of Mike's backbreaking work clearing trails through the woods, we can now walk 2 loop trails! Returning home on Old Oak Trail, we discovered this skittish Comma flitting around in the sunlit leaf litter just outside the woods gate. The filtered light on the trails is pure magic no matter what time of day but especially as the sun sets when warm glows like this stop us in our tracks; and when the Comma perched, our jaws dropped at the beauty of the scene. A 129-year-old oak inspired the name of this trail — now if we could only determine the oak's species...red or black? The conundrum remains for now.
I praise you, Lord, for the infinite beauty of the woods surrounding our home.
