I just happened to catch sight of my yarn bowl sitting in some pretty light this morning. It holds my latest crochet project — a chemo cap worked flat rather than in the round. One of the stitching ministry knitters wants to learn to crochet. I think this pattern will work perfectly for teaching a beginner, so I thought I'd give it a try. We'll see!
I praise you, Lord, for the pretty light on my yarn bowl and for the opportunity to share the joy of crochet.
@helenhall You are so very kind. ♥ A yarn bowl holds a ball of yarn and keeps the ball from rolling across the floor when one is knitting or crocheting with it. The strand of yarn from the ball is fed through that groove you see beneath the chickadee. In this picture, I have my project just resting in the bowl because I was finished crocheting for the moment. Thank you for commenting and for your much appreciated kindness.
@janetb ah yes. thank you for explaining. I see how that would work. My mother used to do a lot of knitting. I knitted a jumper once just to prove that I could do it. And then never picked up the needles again. I remember it being a very stressful, but in the end satisfying project.
