As a member of the high school drill team, I traveled with the band to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, to perform in a parade; and there, I experienced the joy of photography thanks to the inexpensive Kodak point-and-shoot my parents gave me for Christmas. After all this time, that fun trip still evokes vivid memories!
Shortly after graduation and with money earned at my first "real" job, I bought myself a Pentax K1000 35mm SLR and dove into what became a life-long passion. That book there on the bottom of the stack helped open a window to a new world! After upgrading many times over the years, I ended up with old cameras stored away; but with John now grown and owning a house of his own, his room provided a place to display these treasures. I knew before I even began cleaning his room that the K1000 would be the subject of my photo today; and just as I finished my work, I found it resting in pretty light spilling in the squeaky clean windows. Coincidence? I don't believe in them.
I praise you, Lord, for spilling light on the K1000 just at the right time.
