@anwan = thanks Anwan. I used my old fixed lens dslr - it has a decent macro and I don't yet have a macro lens for my new camera - I set the pot on the patio - so yes - just a few feet away. I will post a closer view in my flora and fauna folder - I was trying to see how close I could zoom in.

@anwan - awwww - I am a beginner too - you are so welcome - thanks for all your nice comments. What camera do you have? Funnily I wanted a dslr so I could change lenses - but dont have a macro yet - and my 'old' camera is a fixed lens dslr and has a decent macro. I had it set on automatic. When I take the bird pics I use the new camera and the 'AV' setting or manual so I can blur the background.
