holey stones batman..... it's a piddock!

Bit of a dull day today due to doctors orders to take it easy after a minor hospital procedure. A 365 thread about what people collect inspired me to take this shot. I collect stones with holes in them...... there, I've admitted it.... This one contains a rock-boring bivalve mollusc called a piddock.
nice.. secretive stone =).. I hope you are ok after the procedure..

Beautiful stone and interesting inhabitant! My son loves unusual stones too - I find them all over the house, in his pockets, the washing machine...

we often end up with a new stone or 3 when we come back from the beach. I can see why you like this one its very interesting lovely texture.

Really interesting stone with its holey cheese texture - love the piddock embedded in one of the holes. I have some nice holey stones as well and am often on the look out for more. Hope you are feeling better after the procedure and recover quickly XXX

@armorel @inertie thanks for the good wishes, it was nothing serious and I am fine again already - just don't do sitting around very well!

Nice stone and I had never heard of a piddock before. I love learning new things here on 365. I collect stones also, usually with a white stripe on them.

What do you do when you get inside of a rock?

@hown You hope to god you like it, because there's not much chance of moving house.

"a rock-boring bivalve mollusc"...?? Sounds positively Jurassic Park to me! Great rock pic, they're surprisingly not easy to do!

Oh I love this - such interesting texture and really like the dark background - gives the rock a wonderful warm colour :)
