Installed myself in front of the kitchen window this morning to play my part in the RSPB bird watch. Well I was immediately rewarded by my first ever sighting of two goldfinches on our feeder. Things were looking promising!
My optimism was very short lived when I quickly became convinced that we must have been sabotaged by somebody tethering a cat in our garden or something because for the next twenty minutes or so all bird life disappeared. My mood wasn't helped by Graham very helpfully and hilariously shouting out 'golden eagle' and such-like. Oh how I laughed!
Anyway things slowly came back to normal and most of the usual suspects showed up, but not in the numbers that they usually do.
Gorgeous capture... and sorry the time was not as fruitful as one would wish.... love your write up of the event.... (cat tethered up in the garden... lol!!) as for Graham shouting "golden eagle" well that was just side splitting.... ♥ fav ♥
On a second thought, do you have a son by the name of Sam?? Because I just found a child on here name Sam Hall. Just wondering.
Nice shot again!!
You DID get a photo of the golden eagle, right? ;-)
