continuing a bit of a sheepy theme with a shot from yesterday's visit to Burton Dasset Hills.
A bit of a catch-up day following yesterday's three hours of frustrating telephone calls to BT about our terrible broadband speeds. Apparently it is just the luck of the draw whether you get max download speeds of less than two mbps or well over five mbps like some of my neighbours get. It all depends on whether you have the crumbly rusty old wiring that we have from the exchange or the newer stuff that was put in a few years ago, and it would seem that there is nothing that can be done about it. I am furious about it. Anyway, my last hope is that the engineer who I have got coming around next week might be able to do something at the exchange, so I will have to practice my sweet talking skills.
We are going to a posh black tie birthday party in the village tomorrow night so I thought that I had better just check that the dress that I bought for a similar thing last year still fitted, it is already the largest thing I own - so depressing, I can't even do it up. I have put so much weight on since last year, but I suppose it is the wake up call I need to do something about it.
So a panicked shopping trip to buy something marquee sized awaits me in the morning - yuck!
Love the lighting on that steep terrain... the sheep seem to be oblivious to your presence. Nice hint of pink in the clouds. And I share your pain about weight and dress sizes... wish you luck!
That is so funny Jan, I think we need a bit of winter covering especiallly when so active outside looking after animals. I love this shot; the sunlight and the POV - really fab
But did you have a sheepish grin on your face while taking the photo? :) Beautiful tonal values in this sheep shot. What were they looking at, I wonder?
Such an attractive POV of this slope with sunny sheep, it makes a great scene. Seems very unfair that the ones with the new wiring get the better wireless speed & you who pay the same gets the inferior !
You will look lovely tomorrow night Jan & don't think anything different....thin is not always beautiful & going by your photo you are a beautiful woman!
Fantastic shot - FAV - love the way they are all looking towards the rising sunrise ... can almost imagine that they are chanting that mystical sheep meditation : "Baa ram ewe, baa ram ewe, to your breed, your fleece, your clan be true. Sheep be true. Baa ram ewe!"
Good luck with the shopping trip ... I don't envy you ... Buying posh clothes is one of my least favourite past times !
Looking on the bright side at least you did the strategic day-before-try-on - much better than finding out on the night itself. And you're heaving bales of hay etc round all day so its plainly all muscle anyway.
Wow...the perfect slope of the hill, the placement of the sheep, the angle of the light, the pink tint to the clouds.
This is a wondrous delight and an Insta-FAV.
It almost looks like you caught them in the midst of a secret ritual, as they all greet the morning together. ;-)
I also thought of the movie, "Babe" like @alceyone , when I saw this.

Can you get wireless broadband?
My sympathies re the frock, common problem for women of a certain age :-(
