My sheep theme continues, but not for much longer - honest!
I spotted these as I was leaving my friend's farm shop. Our dog always sits in the middle of the donkeys' hay when it is snowy too.
There is still about four inches of snow on the ground today, and it is very muddy underneath because the ground isn't cold enough to freeze. Slippery horribleness which results in lots of old lady shuffley walking when I go to feed the animals. The poor pigs are really miserable in the snow and some of the time can't even be bothered to come out of their house to eat, which is very un-piglike.
Art class began again today which was nice. We did some sketching with pencil and charcoal to get us back into the swing of things. Made stuffed pancakes for tea and completely messed up the recipe for the batter. I usually put a bit of water into it along with the milk (a la Delia) and accidentally put in about four times as much as I should have done. I was already making a double quantity, so rather than throw the lot away and start again I increased the quantity of everything so we now had about 8 quantities of batter which I was going to freeze in batches but Graham heroically fried into pancakes for the freezer. Don't think the boys are going to complain!
I made delia milk-water pancakes this year too, *and* stuffed 'em! Only one batch though, and they took long enough. Frying up that x8 truly was heroic!
Well wouldn't you given the choice of dry hay or wet snow!!!!! henry has hay in his shed & he lies on his too.
I sympathise looking after the animals in this weather...a nightmare!!
Eat your bed!! I think your husband must be a saint!! and very sensible too, not sure batter would freeze that successfully! Sounds an absolutely nightmare feeding the animals........
Love that you take art classes. So do I. I think that would be the hardest part of being a farmer for me. The animals still need to be taken care of even when the weather is terrible. Nice shot!
Haha! I know the ' old lady shuffle ' very well at the moment. Can't wait to stride out without fear of falling again! Great shot, super capture. I love your sheep shots!
Thanks for the follow! Love these sheep! This must be the group that has triplets and quads inside? That is amazing! I have triplets frequently but never had quads. Do you know what kind of sheep they are?

I like how the sheep are color coordinated to their food. :-)
