picked the kids up from their bus stops, dumped them at home telling them I was going out with my camera, but wouldn't be more than about twenty minutes. Got home an hour and a quarter later. Photography has a habit of doing that to me..........
Before anyone calls Social Services I should point out that my boys are 16 and 13!
I was really looking forward to looking at these pics, but when I went to download them i discovered that my charger had stopped working. Soooo frustrating!
Fortunately I only had to wait a couple of days for a new one to be delivered.
very detailed and possessing a variety of aspects and expressions while retaining a strong theme and feel. the mist is my favorite element here, because the hills and trees are made more striking and relevant by it, and adding on the sunset and clouds is nearly gratuitous in beauty but for it completing the image well instead of having only half the horizon-line puzzle. i second the full view recommendation.
Lovely shot Jan. I suspect your family knew better than to actually expect you back in 20 mins when you had gone out with the camera. I think a strange timey-wimey thing happens when we have the camera in our hands, an hour only seems like 5 mins.
Look at the green grass! It's the first thing that hit me because it's been so long since I've seen it. Love the pink tones and all those beautiful character trees, and so many of them. I'm envious. As for the time lapse...I have that phenomenon happen to me all the time, no matter what the weather, if I'm getting what I want from that shutter then time flies and I'm never cold, until I turn that switch to off. Then I wonder where on earth has the time has gone and why am I shivering? :)
I could gaze at this image all day. Absolutely stunning and a fav. I went out with the dog one evening only to find on my return all door locked, curtains closed and our local, gamekeeper (elderly with a peg leg and gruff face) standing at our door with a brace of pheasants. The children had freaked out ( I have a 16 year old too so able to be left in charge)
One of the many joys of looking at this photo is that the eyes zig zags across this photo from top to bottom and bottom to top, taking in trees and grass and the beautiful evening sky en route. Another Jan Hall fav!
