busy, busy, busy at the moment trying to finalise all of the photos for our village calendar which I want to send off to the printers before we go on holiday on Sunday. It is sooo time consuming and I have learned lots in case we are foolish enough to do it again next year. In fact it is turning into a bit of a nightmare as I discover that some of the shots that we have chosen are too low resolution to look good printed at A4 size. Must check that out at the shortlisting stage next time.
This is a photo that I took of my friends' front door so I could use it for inspiration for our art group's current doors and window theme. It all looks a bit 'set up' but they didn't know I was going round.
They grow all their own fruit and veg on their allotment, and Steve is a bit of a 'collector' of all sorts of interesting bits and bobs, See the skulls lined up above the doorway?
The pumpkins are lined up there to dry out before being taken inside for the winter and inside the porch are strings of onions and home-grown garlic (might post a pic of them tomorrow)
@padlock we were meant to be going to Vietnam but eldest son has wrecked the ligaments in his foot (party/alcohol/stairs........) and as he was only deigning to go because he wanted to do some scuba diving and youngest son is at the 'can't be arsed to do anything' stage, we have cancelled. Instead Graham and I are going to Sorrento for 5 nights. Bummer is I have hired a nice lens for two weeks (70-200 f4 IS) to take to Vietnam, so I will have to try to get my money's worth........
Love this slice of country life Jan....a beautiful home that look all the better for a bit of country produce round the door. A beautiful porch...the complete ideal of most people's image of country living....not always like this!!
Sorry about your holiday but am sure you will enjoy Sorrento & will be lovely to get away on your own for a bit......enjoy the rest & they will manage fine at home. Must be a task getting all the animals cared for.
Your calendar will be fabulous!
Love this, all the interesting objects and great colours and textures, the wonderful reflection in the window, and the overall vintage feeling, fav for me!
I do love your friend's doorway. Lots to see there. Very inviting.
