These trees are in the middle of a field that I pass almost every day on the drive to take my son to and from his bus stop. I have photographed them many times but never come up with anything that I have particularly liked before. As I passed this morning the sunlight was just coming through the fog that had suddenly descended on the area. I did have to do a bit of reversing through the fog to go back to photograph them, which was a bit hair-raising. For once I was quite pleased with the result.
They photo was taken about two miles from where I live. I got home to beautiful bright sunlight, although I hear that storm Abigail (the first one ever to be named in the UK) with her 80mph winds is approaching. Hard to believe at the moment because there is hardly a breath of wind.
I couldn't believe it when I realised it was sunny this morning (no fog here!) after so many foggy or grey days! Abigail is set to batter the far north mostly isn't it, so I don't think it'll be too bad for us the midlands / south. This is a beautiful shot :)
Absolutely gorgeous! I'm so glad that you risked reversing in the fog in order to take this shot. My morning commute has brought me a few gems from time to time, but this is better than all of mine combined. :-) Well done! I hope that you and yours remain safe in Abigail's passing. Back in the late 1980s, when I lived in London, an unnamed storm with gale force winds and hurricane level gusts did a lot of damage (and scared me half to death in my little first floor flat with the sounds of roofing tiles being blown off the roof and smashing on the pavement below). Hopefully, she will veer off to sea and finish her temper tantrum without causing harm in the UK.
