a bit of snow on the ground this morning, but it didn't hang around for long.
There are still a few people living in our village, and in the surrounding area who don't drive, and the nearest shop is about 5 miles away.
This bus stop is the only one in the village. When we moved here 18 years ago there was one bus a week to the local market and back. At the time there was no bus stop, but people knew where to congregate. About 5 years ago the service provider changed and a bus stop was installed, complete with a rather short bus timetable showingtheone return journey to the local town on a Thursday.
It's a good job they provided a bench, because anybody waiting for the bus these days will have a very long wait. The service was completely cancelled about 4 years ago.
On our walks we have been watching the village busses going past with no one on them. Why would you want to get on a bus just now? You have lots of snow there ....very pretty!
Oh dear that's a shame. Great view though, I'm so irritated that we're the only ones in the country not to have any snow seemingly. All the covid and none of the snow. Well actually, would probably make things worse for us, so probably for the best...
Such a pretty scene with the road fading into the mist. So sorry to hear about the reduced services in your rural area.
It's getting that way everywhere.
Lovely scene and welcome back! I remember you from when I first came here, back in 2012!! I had unfollowed during a tidy up as you hadn't posted for so long, but I've hit follow again :)
