The old schoolhouse by janturnbull

The old schoolhouse

"This school was erected in 1759
For the benefit of the Township of Dunham Massey
According to the will of THOMAS WALTON Gent."
So says the plaque over the door of this attractive little building. Nowadays it is the village hall, and the school has moved to a much bigger place in nearby Altrincham.
That's lovely! It's been well preserved and taken care of which I really appreciate. Here in the USA, they just tear down these old wonders and build new. Very little preserved anymore which is so sad.
