Fiddler's Ferry power station by janturnbull

Fiddler's Ferry power station

Another shot from yesterday's walk; we climbed up to Horrocks Fold near Bolton where we could see right across to the Dee estuary.
Opened in 1971, the Fiddler's Ferry coal fired power station finally shut down in March this year after nearly 50 years of service. Demolition is expected to take 7 years.
A lovely view - fav! It's not long ago that coal was being moved from the stockpile at Ferrybridge power station after that closed, to be burned at Fiddlers Ferry power station.
