Holly Turning by jaybutterfield

Holly Turning

The weather is starting to get cold finally -- at least cold for Southern California. That means 36°F (2°C) in the morning but heating up later. This is a volunteer that was removed when I relandscaped my front yard to focus on California natives and drought resistant plantings but this old holly (which has to be 40 years old at least) keeps coming back, especially at this time of year adding to the holiday festivities
Very pretty with the red perimeter, love the lighting :)

I like the lighting, too...and that bit of red in that upper right that echos the main subject...cool. Glad the holly continues, it is festive.

Lovely composition and focus I like the story of it. Every garden has one of this hardy survivors. Merry Christmas to you and your family. And a Happy New Year.
