Faded Glory

January is usually a great month for camellias although given the dry warm weather we have been having, the blooms come and go quickly. My camellias have been struggling ever since we redid the front yard and I think the stress and watering pattern have been too much for them. What they need is a nice cold blast with lots of rain -- unlikely but there is always hope for February,

Beautiful in it's fading. I hope we all get a good soaking especially your Camellias. We used to enjoy going to Descanso Gardens this time of year for the camellias.

I find camellia flowers are quite delicate and sometimes look old and battered as they open.
