Good man. Very delicate; almost Japanese feeling (I lived there for a while).

I agree with Scott on the delicate comment. These last few days of warmth before the cold comes are days to be cherished

@scotthouston Dear Scott, I admire Japanese art. There are so great masterpieces.
You lived in Japan - how wunderful! Once in my life I want to visit this great country. How long did you stay there? In which city did you live? What did you do there? What have you seen?
November 20th, 2016
@summerfield Thanks, Vikki, for your nice comment!

@scotthouston -- you are right that it "feels" Japanese, even though the leaves are a size that differ from Japanese maples. Ah, I do miss autumn in Japan this year! Just passed through Narita airport yesterday and there were no maples :(

@jerome Just short of five years in Hiroshima, for work. Didn't see as much of Japan as we should have (saw a lot of Asia, though). Recommendations:
1. Hiroshima for bombing anniversary (August 6th) -- paper lanterns floating down river at night are amazing.
2. Kyoto -- temples and older parts of the city
3. Miyajima -- an island near Hiroshima; amazing leaf color in Autumn. This is where you see the "torii", or gate in so many classic shots.
4. Hanami, which normally happens near the "Golden Week" holiday. This is when all the cherry blossoms come out after winter -- everyone goes to the park and drinks a beer or two under the trees.

Whatever you do, you'll have fun, and with your eye, get many great photos. Even the department stores are amazing.

@jyokota Oh no! I think I miss Hanami the most. I didn't understand it the first year I was there, but once I'd been through a winter, it all made sense -- a magical time.

@scotthouston Thank you, Scott, for your reply! Japan is certainly a fascinating country. I have to visit it. My dream: to visit Japan during the cherry blossom - with the blossom wave, starting in the south, exploring the country to the north...

My son was there two years ago. For two weeks he lived in Tokyo and attended a language school. He can now speak Japanese, read and write quite well. He is a very big fan of Japan - the language and he culture. He loves this country.
After high school, he wants to study Japanology at the University. Before that, however, he has to do his civilian service (instead of military service).
