San Michele by jerome

San Michele

San Michele is the cemetery of Venice, located on an island. It struggles with lack of space. So the dead are first buried in normal graves, but after a few years exhumed and stacked in high blocks.
On this day, the vaporetto line to San Michele was closed because of the fog. So I can just show you the surrounding wall (I photographed from the main island).
Interesting process. Very nice fog capture, the mist and softness fits well.

Nice image with the fog and subtle colour. It's an interesting way of dealing with their dead.

@annied @bfairfield @kazlamont Thank you, Annie, Bea and Kazzy, for your nice comments!
Ethereal - A cemetery is a special place. To dust the body again... but the souls... where are they... in the earth... in the flowers... in the trees... in the clouds... where they walk... maybe they change... like energy forms change... ever new in other states... Wonderful is this world... I made the light-dark values so that a flicker is created... That happens, If different color areas have similar brightness values. Maybe something suitable for this... ethereal...
