Snowfields must be crossed during the ascent. We are located at about 2000 m above sea level, not far to the summit. It is cold here and ice makes the last grasses freeze. It sparkles in the light of the midday sun.
@golftragic Dear Marnie, this is a picture of better days. At the moment I do not have the time and the condition for mountaineering. And right now the weather is not very suitable for mountain tours. Snow has fallen. A German climber could still be recovered alive yesterday from a deep crevice on the Dachstein. He had stayed there for five days, injured. A miracle that he could be saved.
@jerome Oh golly whizz Jerome, do hope that climber survives. Perhaps he didn't have proper respect for the mountains, nor the local knowledge. I don't mind when you took the shot, I enjoy looking at your photos any time.
@helenhall I really appreciate you and am always very happy about your visit! Yes, this world is wonderful. Unfortunately, life is too short to see all the beauties of this earth. Therefore: carpe diem...
@golftragic
Yes, this mountaineer who met with an accident was extremely careless.The salvage was risky also for the people of the mountain rescue, because currently there is increased avalanche danger in the mountains .
@pistache Thank you, Clare, for your nice congrats! It is a great honor for me to be on the TT. I am very moved when pictures appeal to others, reach others, touch mind and soul. It is among the most magical occurrences in this world.
