You have to cross this snow field on the last stretch to the summit. In the midday sun the surface of the snow has thawed and is now rather slippery. Therefore: Watch out and concentration at every step - the slope is steep.

Ascent to the summit of mountain Bosruck, Upper Austria.
I would certainly wear crampons and bear an ice-axe... This shot remembers me the ascent to the Königsspitze and the Ortler in South Tyrol, an awful lot of years ago. Can't beat a mountain climb!
Having the hikers climbing really gives such a good idea of scale - I can't imagine how they can do this, but it must be an awesome feeling to be up there.
Wow! Just wow! Thanks for sharing these breathtaking climbs with us. It’s a thrill to climb with you and experience something I know I never will myself! A great image with the two men giving it scale! Fav!
@golftragic Thank you, Marnie, for your kind words.
I'm dreaming away with my pictures... It's very nice if you accompany me.
I hope you are fine, my dear friend.
Best regards to Australia.
@pamknowler Thank you, Pam, for your dear lines. The mountains offer beautiful experiences. But it is also important to know your own limits. Sometimes there is no second chance.
@golftragic Do not worry, my dear friend. Nothing hurries, everything has its own time. What is important is the certainty that good thoughts connect each other.
Have a good and fulfilling time!
Great b&w shot
Thank you all for your nice comments!
Bosruck is not the highest mountain, but also no beginner mountain. Surefootedness and a head for heights are required, also a certain alpine experience. Hiking on the ridge of the mountain provides for special moments.
I know both routes that lead to the summit - from the east and from the west. I broke off an ascent - too much snow made it impossible to get ahead halfway. I had no special equipment on this tour (west route) - solid mountain boots were enough. It is also good to wear gloves - these are useful when your hands get in touch with the rock. On the eastern route, however, I had my via ferrata set with me.
