I'm sitting here trying to describe the simple beauty of this image to my husband! SO MUCH that could be said about the exquisiteness of this dune! I, too, wish you could do nothing but travel and take pictures because you share so much beauty with us!!!
stunning Jerome. Now I really need you to come and show me some of your processing magic and your sensitive interpretation of the scenery around you. I have some desert shots we could work on together - if I were to achieve even a half of what you do I would be happy.
@helenhall Thanks for visiting, dear Helen! Of course, I am very happy if you like to look at my pictures. My way of looking at the world... I would very much like to sit next to you and show you what interested me in a motive, how I approached it with the camera, what I thought and felt - as well as working with the computer. I often spend a lot of time on image editing, try a lot, look for the best expression with different details, colour values, saturation levels, contrasts etc. I often try many possibilities, some things are intentional, some things come unexpectedly. You can talk a lot about it, but what really happens can only be explained in the actual process by a concrete picture - and even then with limitations. Every picture is a new journey.
There are some rules in visual design. They are useful. But they do not lead very far when pictorial perception and sensibility is lacking. But even that can be practiced with conscious looking. Often I see the world as "abstract" - see lines, surfaces, directions, chiaroscuro, proportions, shades of colour, the gestures of a shape... All this I have to organize as a picture in a rectangle. I sink into this peculiar world and sometimes I forget the time.
@Weezilou Thank you for your nice lines, dear Louise! The dunes - I often think of them and I would love to visit them again. Unfortunately, I'm currently in great stress and I can only dream away to places that touched me on my travels.
@365karly1 You're right, dear Karly. Hiking in the dunes can be exhausting. Sometimes the sand is relatively firm and easy to walk, sometimes the feet sink deeply.
