I DIT IT

A young Mexican was selling these at our dock this morning. When I found out what they were I thought no way and kept walking by. I stopped myself and came back for a sample which I may never do again in my life. It was crunchy and salty but it was not that bad :-) I didn't get the hot sauce or the lime which would've made it better but the single grasshopper was not that bad. But I did not want a scoop of them at this time...maybe manana.
I am impressed! I would not have sampled! You are brave indeed! But you won, because you got a really good picture!

Good for you for trying it. I couldn’t do it. Excellent image of the food presentation.

You are a brave soul. Takes "street food" to a whole other level!

OMG! Many years ago in high school a friend went to Chicago and being the crazy kid he was brought back chocolate covered insects for his “friends”… of course I tasted one. Crazy too but had to be “cool”. 😜. Great photo Jerzy.

Lovely capture. This is our future. At least they're not yet fed chemicals and antibiotics.

Like Dorothy, I’ve tried chocolate covered bees but not grasshopper. Yet. Although I don’t recall seeing them on offer the times I’ve been in Mexico I’ll look out for them next time I’m there. They would probably pair well with a bottle of Dos Equis amber.

Well done for trying, it’s probably the next big step in our food development. I would certainly try if I saw them ( that’s if my wife would let me!!!).

Kudos to you for trying! These are the proteins of the future (maybe). Great photo and fun narrative.
