Rock salt? really? You are amazing! You must be having so much fun! I love this! I think maybe it is a diamond!!

@stownsend Definitely salt, but I failed with sugar - sigh. I got 2 decent shots out of about 20 so I think my static subject failure rate is falling.
The grain is about 1/16 inch across.
Yes, I'm having fun, it's also frustrating when I can't get it right.
Thank you so very much

Wonderful! So fascinating to see it close up

@julienne1 I was astonished when I saw the photo on the laptop. Rock salt just looks like a white oddly shaped block but it really does look frozen - in my mind at least.
Thanks for commenting

Amazing - just think what you could produce with a peacock feather!!!

@fbailey I wonder? I have a Red Kite feather but that's not as colourful. I'm sure I used to have a Peacock feather, but that was when several lived in the Museum Gardens & roamed around the City, stopping traffic, going to the hospital, in and out of the shops & getting cross if you tried to send them back home!
Thanks, Felicity

@gaylewood Thanks, Gayle. I have to say it's ROCK salt, the kind you put in the grinder not the fine stuff, so about 1/16 inch across. Might try that when I've mastered sugar!

@bigmxx I'm getting there - where ever there is! Been playing with detergent, sugar & coffee today, a work in progress for now.
Thank you very much

@joev Thanks, Joe, it's an exciting but frustrating process. One day I'll master sugar!
