Strangers in the night

Couldn't sleep
Got up to make a drink
Moth trap light hadn't come on
Went to turn it on
Heard funny noises from direction of log pile
Thought it might be Sally's blasted cat
Rushed inside to get camera.
Maybe doesn't have quite the same "Ahhhh" impact as Bambi but he's rare & precious & in MY Garden.

Oh lovely! Not many left are there. It's a treat to see one. You've obviously got a very attractive log pile.

@julienne1 @countrylassie @fbailey How very sad, 3 comments with the same message! What are we doing to our world?
Thank you, Ladies, how I wish you had all said you had one/some in your gardens too.

Terrific shot of the hedge hog - don't have them in the US (just learned that on Wiki) great focus on those spines.

@jesika2 I do see them occasionally ... But nothing like as often as a few years ago

Great shot. It's always a thrill to get a good photo of a species you don't see very often.

Very nice, we don't have them here except as pets I think.

Very cute capture!

@gardenfolk Thanks. It's heart breaking that an animal so common is now endangered, haven't seen or heard it since that night.
