My new friend by jesika2

My new friend

A friendly bee sitting on my hand. There is movement of the antennae because the image is stacked in camera from 7 separate shots.

@countrylassie (S)he was perfectly friendly. The insect chose to climb onto my hand. I never move quickly or erratically around insects so they don't feel threatened by me. The only difficulty was trying to get the bee to sit still while the camera shot the 7 images it cleverly stacks. When it got bored it flew away LOL
Thanks, Lesley

@koalagardens How do I do it? Which part? The camera is very clever & takes 7 pictures which it combines by some kind of camera magic. MUCH better than my feeble attempts at focus stacking via computer.
Getting the insect on my hand? Easy (says she!) I was photographing a flower, the bee landed & after some time walked on to my hand sitting long enough for the camera to do what ever it does when I push the focus stacking button.
Many thanks for your kind comment

This is wonderful. Am fascinated by insects whilst I recognising the fear that many others have. Serendipitously have taken shots of insects, whilst yours are making me consider that I need to give them a greater 'coat of looking at'.

@s4sayer Thanks, Margo. I'm a "sneaky snapper" but given the opportunity, I'll happily get up close & personal with them. I've found a technique which works for me. How I wish I'd had this little Oly TG5 when I had the wasp nest on my shed door. I could get to within an inch of the wasps - I didn't bother them, they didn't attack me - to get really detailed stacked images.
Thanks for a very kind comment

Awesome capture

@bigmxx Thank you, Michelle. We take these tiny creatures for granted but macro/clos-up photography gives us such a lot of information and doesn't harm them. Win win for all.
